Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or related field
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a school social worker
  • Direct experience within K-12 school environments preferred
  • Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education procedures
  • Compassionate communication skills, ready to collaborate with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to manage caseloads, organize meetings, and document interventions effectively
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and ongoing professional development

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ mental health and emotional well-being
  • Develop strategies for students facing behavioral, academic, or attendance challenges
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing social-emotional insight and advocating for student needs
  • Coordinate with teachers, administrators, and external agencies to deliver comprehensive care and crisis intervention
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of IEPs and 504 Plans
  • Conduct assessments to identify community services and resources for families in need
