Step into an impactful social work opportunity supporting elementary students in a dynamic, onsite school environment near New Britain, CT. This full-time, contract-based position offers a consistent 35-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, working primarily with an elementary school caseload. The assignment starts on August 31, 2026, with an open end date (flexible to accommodate holiday schedules) and the possibility of extension.

As a vital member of the student services team, you’ll primarily focus on conducting evaluations. Applicants must feel confident managing short-leave assignments and thrive in a school-based setting. Virtual work options are not currently available; your presence at the school is essential to provide hands-on support and timely interventions for students. Interviews will be held via Zoom for your convenience.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Hold an active CT (071) School Social Worker license/certification and CT DPH credentials (please submit with application)
  • Proven school-based experience, specifically within elementary settings
  • Ability to handle short-term assignments with flexibility and professionalism
  • Comfortable conducting a variety of student evaluations
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Full-time availability, onsite only

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough student evaluations as requested by the school
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to address students’ social and emotional needs
  • Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to plan and implement individualized support strategies
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation
