A full-time School Social Worker position is available to support K-12 students, primarily serving elementary grades. This contract role spans the complete school year and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on student well-being through collaborative interventions and counseling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of students from kindergarten through 12th grade, focusing mainly on elementary school.
- Review student records to identify needs and develop appropriate support plans.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and parents to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute to tailored student goals and services.
- Conduct both group and individual counseling sessions to support student mental health and social development.
- Serve as an active member of the Student Support Team to develop comprehensive strategies for student success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Michigan School Social Worker certification is required or the ability to obtain it.
- Valid Michigan Social Worker License.
- Experience working within K-12 educational environments, preferably with a focus on elementary students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with families and school personnel.
- Knowledge of IEP processes and student support frameworks.
