School Social Worker - Okemos, MI

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Social Worker
• Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly in school-based settings
• Strong understanding of the needs of Special Education and General Education populations
• Excellent communication, empathy, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students with a range of academic, social, and emotional needs
• Participate in assessment and intervention planning for students receiving Special Education services
• Develop and implement strategies to support social and emotional growth across all elementary grades
• Serve as a liaison between school, families, and external community resources
• Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution when necessary
• Engage in regular collaboration with teachers and support staff to promote student well-being
