School-Based Social Worker | Oneonta, New York

Located in Oneonta, NY, this full-time contract position within a K-12 school setting offers an opportunity for a dedicated School Social Worker to provide critical support to students and families throughout the school year (CSY).

Primary responsibilities include delivering individual and small-group counseling aligned with students’ IEPs, 504 Plans, and Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions identified through the MTSS Committee. The role involves collaborating closely with families to connect them to community-based emotional and mental health resources. The social worker will also serve as an integral member of the counseling team, assisting faculty during crisis situations involving student dysregulation or emotional distress.

Key qualifications and credentials:

• Current and valid New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification, or actively working toward obtaining LCSW status with supervision available if pending
• Alternatively, New York State Certified School Social Worker (C-SSW) credentials are acceptable
• Completion of all mandated reporter training as required by New York State education regulations
• Approved NYSED fingerprinting and background clearance
• Documentation of Sexual Harassment Prevention training per NYSED guidelines

Work schedule runs Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Compensation ranges from $38 to $40 per hour.
