Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required (no exceptions; master’s is essential).
  • Active LARA License through the state of Michigan.
  • One of the following credentials:
    • Licensed master’s level social worker or school social worker (LMSW).
    • Limited licensed master’s level social worker under supervision.
    • Licensed or limited licensed master’s level psychologist.
    • Licensed master’s level marriage and family therapist.
    • Licensed/provisional master’s level professional counselor or school counselor, with appropriate supervision and/or credentials (see details above).
    • Michigan teaching certificate with School Counselor endorsement or preliminary/temporary school counselor credentials, with commitment to licensure within 24 months if applicable.
  • Experience working in school settings and with children/adolescents is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with social-emotional learning, counseling, and behavior support strategies.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group social-emotional support to students.
  • Support classroom teachers and staff with behavior programs and interventions.
  • Participate in and conduct professional learning sessions.
  • Contribute to an inclusive and caring environment across school buildings.
