School-Based Social Worker - Oxford, Michigan

Make a real impact supporting students in a contract Mental Health Specialist role for the 2025/2026 school year. Situated near Oxford, MI, this position centers on providing crucial social and emotional support to general education students, both individually and in groups. Two elementary positions are available, offering the opportunity to work closely with students, faculty, and staff to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social-emotional services and interventions to students
• Lead or co-lead group counseling sessions and provide individualized student supports
• Assist classroom teachers and building teams with positive behavior programs and professional learning initiatives
• Engage collaboratively with educators, administrators, and parents to support student well-being

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree required (bachelor’s degrees will not be considered)
• Active LARA license through the state of Michigan in one of the following:
  • Social Worker (LMSW or LLMSW under LMSW supervision)
  • Psychologist (Full or Limited, with qualifying supervision)
  • Marriage and Family Therapist (master’s level)
  • Professional Counselor (LPC or LLPC with supervision)
  • MDE-certified master’s level school psychologist or school social worker
  • School Counselor License or comparable Michigan teaching credentials with appropriate endorsements
  • For candidates with a Preliminary or Temporary School Counselor License, eligibility to meet LARA licensing requirements within 24 months of hire
