Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program (or equivalent relevant degree)
- Valid state licensure or certification to practice as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience working with students in grades 5 through 9, preferably in a school environment
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and issues relevant to preteens and teenagers
- Proficiency in developing and implementing social-emotional learning interventions and crisis response plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with students, families, faculty, and administration
- Organized, flexible, and driven to support student well-being and promote a positive school environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and support services to students in grades 5-9, addressing academic, behavioral, social, and emotional concerns
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement individualized interventions and support strategies
- Lead or assist with crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions tailored to developmental needs
- Guide families to community resources and provide referrals when appropriate
- Maintain accurate, confidential student case notes and progress documentation
- Participate in relevant meetings, trainings, and professional development
