Make an impact as a dedicated Social Worker supporting students in a dynamic K-12 Special Education environment, located near Pontiac, MI. This contract position offers an opportunity to provide vital social-emotional and resource support to students during the Extended School Year (ESY) from June 30, 2026, through August 6, 2026 (up to 25 hours per week), and the New School Year (NSY) from August 17, 2026, through June 11, 2027 (up to 35 hours per week). Candidates must be available for both ESY and NSY assignments.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Active School Social Worker Certification (310) required; please include a copy of your certification when applying.
- Background working in school settings, ideally K-12 special education, preferred.
- Experience developing and implementing intervention plans, supporting behavioral and emotional needs, and collaborating with educators and families.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to working exclusively onsite.
- Candidates without certification must have appropriate supervision arranged before interviewing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social work services to K-12 students, focusing on special education populations.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to support students’ IEP goals and social-emotional well-being.
- Conduct assessments, provide crisis intervention, and facilitate social skills groups.
- Maintain thorough documentation for compliance and student records.
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students and their families, connecting them to relevant services.
