Make a difference supporting students in a school environment as a Social Worker for the 26/27 academic year! This is a contract, full-time position located near Providence, RI, giving you the chance to help shape students’ emotional and social wellbeing. Work hands-on, both one-on-one and in group settings, contributing to a positive school climate and guiding children as they develop essential life skills.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active state licensure (LMSW, LSW, or LCSW) along with school certification through RIDE; candidates with pending certification must provide proof of application.
  • Previous experience working in schools is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of social-emotional learning and child development.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Compassion, patience, and a commitment to supporting students of varying backgrounds.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one and group counseling services supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Lead and facilitate social skills groups aimed at promoting positive peer relationships and self-management.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create individual support plans.
  • Help with crisis intervention and guide students through conflict resolution.
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate, confidential records as required by school policies.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute your expertise to shape a safe, inclusive school climate.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:15am–2:45pm (extended until 3pm on Wednesdays).
