Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensure as a School Social Worker or eligibility for licensure in the state.
  • Previous experience working with students in grades 5 through 9.
  • Solid understanding of adolescent development and the unique challenges faced by middle and high school learners.
  • Compassion, cultural sensitivity, and strong communication skills for effective engagement with students, families, and staff.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary education teams is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling and support to students, both individually and in small groups, addressing emotional, behavioral, and social concerns.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans to support students’ success in and out of the classroom.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention and manage challenging situations with empathy and effectiveness.
  • Act as a liaison among students, teachers, families, and outside agencies to promote positive student outcomes.
  • Participate in and contribute to IEP/504 meetings, ensuring students receive appropriate accommodations and support.
  • Deliver classroom presentations on relevant social topics such as conflict resolution, peer relationships, and mental health awareness.
  • Document services and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies and guidelines.
