Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensure as a School Social Worker or eligibility for licensure in the state.
- Previous experience working with students in grades 5 through 9.
- Solid understanding of adolescent development and the unique challenges faced by middle and high school learners.
- Compassion, cultural sensitivity, and strong communication skills for effective engagement with students, families, and staff.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary education teams is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling and support to students, both individually and in small groups, addressing emotional, behavioral, and social concerns.
- Develop and implement intervention plans to support students’ success in and out of the classroom.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and manage challenging situations with empathy and effectiveness.
- Act as a liaison among students, teachers, families, and outside agencies to promote positive student outcomes.
- Participate in and contribute to IEP/504 meetings, ensuring students receive appropriate accommodations and support.
- Deliver classroom presentations on relevant social topics such as conflict resolution, peer relationships, and mental health awareness.
- Document services and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies and guidelines.
