Key Qualifications:
- Active Michigan school social work certification (310) is required; please provide a copy with your application.
- Experience working with K-12 students in a school or special education setting highly preferred.
- Familiarity with the needs of diverse learners and understanding of IEP processes.
- Ability to collaborate with school staff, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized student plans.
- Supervisory arrangements must be in place prior to interviewing if certification is not available.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social work services to students, including assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention.
- Design and implement strategies to support the social and emotional well-being of students in a special education context.
- Serve as a key team member, participating in IEP meetings and collaborating on individualized educational goals.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and required reports.
- Liaise with families, outside agencies, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive student support.
