Step into a meaningful role supporting students in a day therapeutic program serving the Round Lake, IL area. This contract opportunity is perfect for a dedicated social worker with a passion for making a positive impact within school settings. You’ll collaborate with educators and specialized teams for three elementary classes: two focused on Emotional Disabilities (ED) and one on autism support. The position runs from as soon as possible through May 22, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for the following school year.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure as a School Social Worker required
- Previous experience in school-based social work, particularly within therapeutic or special education settings
- Familiarity with elementary emotional disabilities (ED) and autism spectrum support strategies
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive environment for students and staff
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct and indirect social work services to students in two ED elementary classes and one elementary autism class
- Collaborate with teaching staff, counselors, and families to develop and implement individualized student strategies
- Assist with IEP planning, documentation, and student progress assessments
- Offer crisis intervention and support as needed
- Promote social/emotional learning and facilitate small group or one-on-one interventions based on student needs
- Participate actively in school meetings and contribute to a cohesive, supportive team environment
Schedule Details:
- Full-time, contract position
- Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 3:15 pm, including a half-hour lunch
