In this contract position, you’ll play a crucial role in advocating for the social, emotional, and academic success of middle and junior high school students, fostering positive school experiences and delivering meaningful interventions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Social Worker license or certification required
- Experience supporting students in grades 5–9 preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to design and implement individual and group interventions
- Familiarity with effective classroom behavior strategies and at-risk youth support
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, case management, and family engagement
- Comfortable working with teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling and social-emotional support to students across grades 5–9
- Collaborate with educators to identify students in need, develop action plans, and monitor progress
- Conduct assessments and maintain documentation in alignment with school and district policies
- Serve as a liaison among families, school staff, and community resources
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning, as needed
- Deliver preventive programs and presentations that support a positive school climate
- Respond to crises and provide immediate support when necessary
