As a school-based social worker, you’ll play a key role in helping students achieve their best through close collaboration, thoughtful interventions, and direct support services. You will manage a caseload of 15-20 students, primarily in elementary grades, with both part-time (2-3 days/week) and full-time scheduling possibilities based on caseload distribution and your availability.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Work endorsement (required)
- Prior experience delivering services in a school setting, specifically with IEP or 504 plans, strongly preferred
- Strong background in implementing Tier II/III behavioral and social-emotional supports
- Effective communicator and collaborator with students, families, and educational staff
- Organized, flexible, and passionate about student well-being
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver mandated social work services in accordance with student IEP and 504 plans
- Provide targeted behavioral and social-emotional interventions for general education students at Tier II and Tier III levels
- Engage in consultation and teamwork with teachers, counselors, and administration
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and progress reports for all assigned students
- Offer crisis response and support as needed throughout the school day
