Social Worker | Scranton, Pennsylvania

Support elementary students as a school-based social worker in the Scranton area, providing essential emotional and behavioral assistance to grades K-4. In this contract, on-site role, you’ll guide students through their academic journeys by helping them overcome personal and interpersonal challenges, fostering resilience and positive growth.

Key Qualifications:

• Active licensure as a Social Worker in accordance with state requirements
• Experience working in school settings, particularly with elementary populations
• Background supporting emotional/behavioral needs, with proven strategies in crisis intervention and de-escalation
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Compassion, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity in supporting diverse student backgrounds

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized support plans for students requiring emotional support
• Deliver direct interventions and counseling to students in grades K-4
• Serve as a liaison between families, teachers, administration, and community resources
• Promote a positive and safe school environment through advocacy and preventative programming
• Maintain thorough documentation and reports as required
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings and Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes to advocate for your students’ well-being
