Two full-time social worker positions are available for the 2026-2027 school year, offering the chance to directly impact school communities. The roles are slated to begin September 8, 2026, with a tentative end date based on permanent hiring decisions, and will be based in-person.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current NYS School Social Worker (SSW) certification
- Active LMSW or LCSW license in New York State
- Previous experience as a social worker in a school environment preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity for collaboration with school teams and families
- Empathetic, resourceful, and organized approach to student support
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide social-emotional support and counseling services to students
- Assess student needs and collaborate with staff to develop support plans
- Partner with families and community agencies to address student concerns
- Contribute to positive school climate initiatives and behavior interventions
- Maintain confidential records and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Adapt to evolving caseload assignments and schedules (to be finalized late August)
