Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Hold a valid Social Worker license or certification appropriate for school settings
  • Experience working with students in grades 5-9, preferably within an educational environment
  • Solid understanding of adolescent development and challenges facing middle and early high school students
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and outside agencies to support students’ well-being
  • Adaptable, compassionate, and able to handle sensitive situations with tact and confidentiality

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth through individual and group counseling
  • Develop and implement intervention plans for at-risk students
  • Foster positive relationships with students to nurture a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify and address barriers to student success
  • Conduct assessments and provide appropriate referrals to outside agencies as needed
  • Assist with crisis intervention and participate in team meetings to develop strategies for student support
