In this dynamic contract role, you’ll work directly with students, families, and staff, helping to foster a positive learning atmosphere and supporting students' social-emotional development.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- State licensure as a School Social Worker or relevant credentials required
- Experience working with students in 5th through 9th grade, preferably in an educational setting
- Solid understanding of adolescent development, behavioral intervention, and crisis management
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to develop and implement student support plans and facilitate small group interventions
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions that address the social and emotional needs of students in grades 5-9
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to design and implement effective support strategies
- Respond promptly to crisis situations, offering guidance, resources, and appropriate referrals
- Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
- Advocate for students’ needs, supporting their success both inside and outside the classroom
- Conduct outreach to families, connecting them with school and community resources
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with district and state guidelines
