School-Based Social Worker | Sterling Heights, Michigan

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work
• Current Michigan state licensure as a Social Worker
• Previous experience working in a K-12 educational setting
• Robust skills in clinical assessment, social-emotional intervention, and behavioral support
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and families
• Strong organizational skills, particularly in coordinating and maintaining student 504 Plans

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as both a general education and special education social worker
• Act in a leadership role as the school’s 504 Plan Coordinator, ensuring compliance and student support
• Deliver direct social-emotional interventions, develop behavior intervention plans, and provide crisis support as needed
• Partner with teaching staff, administration, and families to promote student success and well-being
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state and agency requirements
• Support school-wide initiatives designed to enhance educational and social outcomes
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans where appropriate

This contract position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, running through June 23, 2027.
