School-Based Social Worker | Uniontown, Pennsylvania

These school-based, full-time contract opportunities offer the chance to collaborate with educators and professionals to empower youth facing significant mental health or emotional challenges.

Openings are available for skilled Social Workers or Counselors at two onsite locations:

• IU1 McMurray Campus: Work with students in both emotional support and partial hospitalization programs, addressing complex needs in a collaborative team environment. This assignment runs ASAP through June 2027 (subject to change).
• Coal Center campus: Serve as a long-term substitute from October 2026 through January 2027, helping students navigate emotional and behavioral hurdles in a supportive educational setting.

Key qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field (required)
• Active Pennsylvania State License in Social Work or Counseling
• PDE Educational Specialist certification (for Social Worker applicants)
• School or clinical experience with youth requiring emotional, behavioral, or mental health support is strongly preferred
• Commitment to trauma-informed, student-centered practices
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with school staff, families, and external agencies

Primary duties:

• Deliver assessments and one-on-one counseling to students with emotional or behavioral needs
• Design and implement individualized intervention strategies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop effective plans of care
• Maintain documentation and participate in IEP/504 meetings as required
• Serve as a consistent, caring presence for students and advocate for their well-being within the school system
