School Social Worker - Walled Lake, MI

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary students as an onsite school social worker. This full-time, contract position offers the opportunity to support young learners and their families, fostering a healthy school environment and promoting social-emotional growth. You’ll collaborate daily with educators, staff, and caregivers to ensure each child receives the encouragement and resources they need to thrive.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed or certified as a School Social Worker in Michigan (or eligible)
• Previous experience working in an educational setting preferred, especially with elementary-aged children
• Strong knowledge of child development, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage a full caseload and maintain accurate documentation

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social work services to elementary students, including individual and group counseling
• Conduct assessments to identify student and family needs
• Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to each child’s needs
• Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community resources
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input for students receiving special services
• Support educators and administrators with strategies for social-emotional learning and classroom management
• Respond to crises and offer support for students experiencing social or emotional challenges
