School-Based Social Worker - Warren, Michigan

Work three days per week (0.6 Full-Time Equivalent) with the flexibility to set your own consistent weekly schedule. You'll be welcomed into a positive environment, focusing on students who primarily have traditional middle school needs, although some individuals exhibit more challenging behaviors and would benefit from your guidance and support. The hours are 7:40 am to 2:40 pm, allowing for work-life balance while making a meaningful difference.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Holds a valid 310 School Social Worker approval or a preliminary approval to serve as a School Social Worker (SSW)
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred, especially with middle school populations
• Confidence working with students who display a range of behavioral and emotional needs
• Strong skills in communication, empathy, and collaboration
• Ability to build trust and rapport with both students and staff

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Deliver social work services to a diverse caseload of middle school students
• Develop strategies to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally
• Collaborate with faculty, families, and community agencies to support student progress
• Respond to student crises with sensitivity and professionalism
• Maintain accurate records and compliance with state and district requirements
