School-Based Social Worker | Warren, Michigan

Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting middle school students as a School Social Worker. Located near Warren, MI, this position offers a consistent three-day-per-week schedule (0.6 FTE) from August 24, 2026, to June 9, 2026, with daily hours from 7:40am to 2:40pm. You’ll have the flexibility to set your workdays, provided they remain steady throughout the school year. With a seasoned full-time social worker available on-site for guidance and support, newer professionals will find the environment welcoming and collaborative.

Key Qualifications:

• School Social Worker (SSW) credential required
• Must have a 310 approval or preliminary approval for SSW in Michigan
• Previous experience in a school social work role, preferably at the middle school level, is beneficial
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a school setting
• Commitment to student advocacy and well-being

Responsibilities:

• Provide social-emotional support and interventions for a caseload of traditional middle school students
• Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs
• Participate in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Deliver crisis intervention and case management as needed
• Support school-wide initiatives to foster a positive school climate

This contract position includes compensation between $45 and $53 per hour. In addition to hourly compensation, eligible candidates may access healthcare coverage, as well as housing and meals/incidentals during their assignment.
