Social Worker in Warren, MI

Make a lasting impact supporting K-12 students by providing vital social work services within a Special Education District. We're seeking a dedicated professional to work onsite in a dynamic educational environment, serving students from elementary through high school. This role runs from ASAP through June 11, 2026, offering the opportunity to build strong relationships and deliver consistent support to students and staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active school social work certification (310) required. Please be prepared to present certification at the time of application.
• Candidates without certification must secure supervision arrangements prior to interviewing.
• Experience working in K-12 school settings preferred, especially within special education.
• Solid understanding of child and adolescent development, along with familiarity with school-based support interventions.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families.
• Must be able to work onsite throughout the contract term.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling and intervention services for students in special education programs.
• Facilitate social-emotional learning and support positive behavior initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with educators, families, and external agencies to develop and implement student support plans.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate goals and accommodations.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and legal requirements.
