Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
  • State licensure or certification in School Social Work
  • Previous experience working with students in grades 5-9 preferred
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development, social-emotional learning, and crisis intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and maintain confidential, accurate records

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students through counseling, assessment, and crisis intervention
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to address social, behavioral, and academic needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure comprehensive support
  • Lead and participate in case conferences, student support meetings, and IEP/504 plan development
  • Advocate for student well-being and connect families to community resources
  • Deliver classroom presentations and group sessions on relevant social-emotional topics
