7th Grade 9th Grade Social Worker in Warwick, RI

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Valid licensure or certification as a school social worker
• Experience delivering social-emotional support and interventions for students in grades 5–9
• Strong ability to assess and respond to student needs, create individual or group support plans, and track progress
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on working effectively with students, families, teachers, and staff
• Familiarity with IEP and 504 plan processes and participation in student support teams
• Commitment to ethical standards and professional boundaries

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling and support services for students facing academic, social, or emotional challenges
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and outside professionals to coordinate resources and referrals
• Conduct needs assessments and crisis intervention as necessary
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, provide input on student progress, and assist in development of support strategies
• Foster a respectful, inclusive climate where students are empowered to communicate their needs
• Develop and deliver programs promoting social-emotional learning, peer relationships, and resilience
