Make a meaningful impact supporting young learners as a contracted school social worker! This opportunity focuses on providing essential services to early childhood and elementary students during a maternity leave coverage from late November through February—with a possible second opening for a medical leave needing coverage sooner.
In this dynamic role, you’ll split your expertise between two settings—0.6 FTE at an Early Childhood Center working closely with GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) participants and students requiring additional supports, and 0.4 FTE at an elementary school. Your efforts will foster emotional and behavioral well-being, helping children build strong foundations for learning and growth.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work and current state licensure required
- Experience as a school social worker, ideally with early childhood and elementary populations
- Strong understanding of IEPs, behavioral interventions, and individualized supports
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and case management abilities
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and build rapport with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners and maintaining confidentiality
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and group counseling to early childhood and elementary students
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor student support plans
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to evaluations for special education eligibility
- Serve as a resource for crisis intervention, restorative practices, and prevention programs
