5th Grade 6th Grade School-Based Social Worker - Westfield, Massachusetts

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Social Worker
• Demonstrated experience supporting school-aged children, ideally across 5th to 9th grades
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and challenges facing middle and early high school students
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention skills
• Compassionate, adaptable, and able to thrive in dynamic school environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs through one-on-one and group sessions
• Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families to create individualized support plans and behavioral interventions
• Advocate for students’ wellbeing, working to remove barriers to academic and personal success
• Facilitate workshops and classroom activities addressing topics such as emotional regulation, bullying prevention, and coping skills
• Document services provided and maintain accurate, confidential records per ethical and professional standards
• Serve as a resource to staff regarding best practices in student wellness and support
