School-Based Social Worker - Whitehall, Michigan

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Current licensure appropriate for school-based social work
• Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings
• Strong crisis intervention, mediation, and counseling skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to cultural competence and equity in student support
• Ability to design and facilitate small group or individual interventions

Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to identify barriers to learning and connect students with needed resources
• Provide direct counseling and behavioral support to students individually and in groups
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to develop intervention plans and promote positive school climate
• Engage actively with families, offering guidance and connecting them with external supports
• Participate in evaluation meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes as needed
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of services provided
• Assist in crisis response and management, supporting the wellbeing of students and staff
