School Social Worker - Wilkes Barre, PA

This full-time contract opportunity runs from ASAP through June 2027 and offers regular Monday to Friday hours (35-37.5 hours per week). Three licensed school social workers are required to work in a supportive environment, focusing on elementary and all-age specialized academic settings. Key Qualifications:

• Valid state certification as a School Social Worker (specialized credential required; general social work license alone does not qualify)
• Experience or training in school settings, with a focus on K-12 or elementary caseloads preferred
• Confidence in working with diverse student populations, including those in specialized academic support programs (ES/AS)
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with faculty, administrators, and families
• Professionalism, adaptability, and a compassionate approach to supporting students’ well-being and success

Responsibilities:

• Provide social-emotional support and intervention services to students in assigned grade levels (K-4 or K-12 across ES/AS populations)
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and educational teams to develop and implement individualized plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, progress, and services rendered
• Serve as a resource to students, parents, and staff regarding available social services and community resources
• Participate in IEP/504 meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
