Social Worker in Wilkes Barre, PA

This is a leave coverage role, beginning as soon as possible and extending through February 15, 2027, and offers flexible daily hours—either 8:30 am to 3:30 pm or, if you prefer, 8:15 am to 3:15 pm (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch). You’ll enjoy a consistent schedule of 6.5 working hours per day, totaling 32.5 hours per week (inclusive of prep time), providing reliable structure throughout the school year.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Active social work licensure in Pennsylvania (LSW or above required)
• Recent experience in a K–12 school setting preferred
• Strong communication and advocacy skills
• Knowledge of community resources relevant to student needs
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and build rapport with students, families, and staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct services and interventions to students and families
• Conduct assessments to determine student needs and develop appropriate action plans
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and special education teams
• Facilitate small groups, crisis interventions, and individual counseling sessions
• Serve as a liaison between school and community agencies
• Participate in IEP/504 meetings and contribute to student support teams
• Maintain accurate case notes and timely documentation
