This contract opportunity runs from August 17th to November 27th, covering a maternity leave position. You’ll work exclusively with a group of 20-25 students, a mix of general and special education learners, providing critical social-emotional and behavioral support at a pivotal time in their academic journey.
Qualifications & Experience:
- State-issued licensure or certification as a school social worker (Type 73, LSW, or LCSW, as required by state regulations)
- Prior experience working in a school environment highly preferred
- Familiarity with supporting both general education and special education populations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster relationships with students, staff, and families
- Proven ability to manage caseloads and maintain accurate documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect social work services to 8th-grade students, ensuring their social, emotional, and academic well-being
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administration to support student needs and recommend interventions
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized support plans for students with IEPs or 504 plans
- Facilitate group or individual sessions to address social skills, coping strategies, and emotional regulation
- Communicate progress and concerns to parents/guardians and participate in team meetings
- Maintain records in compliance with school, district, and state guidelines
