Step into a rewarding contract opportunity where your expertise as a School Social Worker can make a transformative impact. In this role, you will support a specialized day therapeutic program designed to meet the unique needs of students across three classes: two focused on elementary students with Emotional Disabilities (ED) and one dedicated to elementary-aged children on the autism spectrum. Your professional insight and compassionate approach will play a key role in helping these young learners reach their fullest potential.

This full-time position runs from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday, with a convenient half-hour lunch break. The assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and continues through May 22, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for the following academic year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid state licensure as a School Social Worker
  • Experience working in school-based settings, particularly with elementary-aged students
  • Familiarity with therapeutic day programs or similar environments
  • Background supporting students with emotional disabilities and/or autism
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized interventions, crisis plans, and family support strategies

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect social work services to students in ED and autism classrooms
  • Facilitate small group and individual counseling sessions tailored to student needs
  • Implement therapeutic interventions that foster social, emotional, and behavioral development
  • Collaborate with teachers, aides, therapists, and families to develop effective plans
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to progress monitoring, and complete related documentation
  • Support family engagement and provide resource guidance as needed
