Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a school-based social worker in a vibrant educational setting. This full-time contract position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:15 am to 2:45 pm (with Wednesdays extending to 3:00 pm). You’ll provide essential emotional and social support to students through both one-on-one and group sessions, as well as help lead engaging social skills groups.
Qualifications:
- Active State license (LMSW, LSW, or LCSW) and school social worker certification through RIDE
- Experience working in school settings, with a passion for supporting children and adolescents
- Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
- Organized, with the capacity to balance individual case management and group activities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social work services to students individually and in groups
- Facilitate social skills groups tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to design and implement intervention strategies
- Assist in the development of behavioral and social-emotional goals for students
- Support crisis intervention and provide ongoing advocacy for student wellbeing
- Maintain documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Potential opportunity to provide part-time support during the summer session
