This onsite position focuses on serving K-12 students in the Ypsilanti area, collaborating with educators and families to empower students and address their social, emotional, and academic needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work is required
- Active SSW-310 Authorization for School Social Work or current MDE School Social Worker Credential
- Demonstrated experience working with student populations in K-12 educational settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to provide crisis intervention, assessments, and ongoing counseling services
- Commitment to culturally responsive and equitable practices
- Must be present onsite for all required hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and provide individualized interventions
- Develop and implement support plans targeting social, emotional, and behavioral growth
- Serve as an advocate for students and families, linking them to community resources
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other professionals in multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in IEP planning and meetings as necessary
- Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with state and district policies
