School-Based Social Worker - Ypsilanti, Michigan

Take on an enriching contract opportunity supporting middle school students as a School Social Worker for the 2025-2026 academic year. This role, based near Ypsilanti, MI, runs from August 24, 2025, through June 9, 2026, and offers the flexibility of a part-time schedule—work three consistent days per week (0.6 FTE), with hours from 7:40 am to 2:40 pm.

In this position, you'll collaborate closely with an experienced, full-time social worker who will provide valuable support, making this a welcoming setting for both established professionals and those newer to the field. The caseload will primarily consist of traditional middle school assignments, allowing you to make a meaningful impact during this formative time in students’ lives.

Desired Qualifications:

• State of Michigan approval as a School Social Worker (310 or preliminary approval required)
• Experience or training in middle school settings preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to develop rapport with middle school-aged youth
• Flexibility and commitment to a consistent schedule

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social work services to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, administrators, and families
• Develop and implement intervention plans
• Advocate for students and help connect families to community resources
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
