School-Based Social Worker - Ypsilanti, Michigan

Key Qualifications:

• Current state licensure through LARA (LLMSW or LMSW required; LBSW applicants should inquire further)
• School social worker approval or eligibility through MDE; please review requirements online
• Experience or coursework related to working with children in school or similar environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for interacting with students, staff, and families
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social work services and support for elementary-aged students, addressing academic, behavioral, and social challenges
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families on intervention strategies and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Assess students’ needs and connect them with appropriate community and school resources
• Conduct group and individual counseling sessions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and student progress
• Serve as an advocate for students, helping to promote a positive and inclusive school climate
