Special Education Teacher - Accomac, Virginia

Exciting opportunities are available for passionate Special Education Teachers for the upcoming 26/27 school year! We are seeking dedicated educators to fill four full-time contract roles in a supportive school environment near Accomac, VA. Flexible placement options include two elementary (K-5) inclusion positions, one elementary (K-5) self-contained role, and one middle school (grades 6-8) inclusion position. Each position offers excellent para support, fostering a collaborative and enriching setting for both educators and students.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
• Previous experience in an inclusion or self-contained classroom setting preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
• Passion for nurturing growth and supporting student success

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to IEP goals and individual learner profiles
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and structured class environment
• Engage families and guardians in the educational process
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Create a welcoming, respectful classroom climate
