Special Education Teacher in Akron, OH

Seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher to support 3rd grade students in an intervention setting for a short-term contract covering a leave. This assignment offers the opportunity to make a direct impact, working with a dedicated school community and collaborating with educators and support staff.

Assignment Details:

• Location: To be determined
• Contract assignment from November 2026 to February 2027
• Monday through Friday schedule
• Hours and daily start/end times to be determined
• Caseload includes 3rd grade intervention students; additional caseload details will be provided

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and interventions aligned with students’ IEP goals
• Facilitate academic and individualized supports for 3rd grade learners
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and targeted academic interventions
• Monitor and document student progress per special education requirements
• Work in partnership with general education teachers, related service staff, and administrators
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and planning sessions as needed

Qualifications:

• Active, valid state Special Education teaching certification
• Proper grade-level or special education endorsement required
• Previous experience in elementary special education or academic intervention preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and effective collaboration strongly valued
