Special Education Teacher - Alabaster, AL

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with educators and families to ensure each learner has the support and resources needed to thrive. Your skills will help create an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued and able to succeed.

Qualifications:

• Valid and current Special Education licensure, which must be verifiable through the Alabama Department of Education certification portal.
• Certification for grades 6-12 or K-12.
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students in special education settings is highly preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and individualized instructional skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Develop lesson plans and adapt curriculum to meet students’ diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to promote student success.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings as required.
• Implement evidence-based practices and positive behavior interventions.

Onsite Position Details:

• Full-time contract, 37.5 hours per week.
• Academic year assignment from August 4, 2026, through May 26, 2027.
• Work directly with a dedicated middle-school caseload.
