Special Education Teacher – Albany, NY Area

We are seeking multiple Special Education Teachers for full-time openings in the Albany, NY area for the 2026–2027 school year. These positions are within an elementary autism program and are a strong fit for educators with experience supporting students with disabilities and writing IEPs.

Position Details:

Location: Albany, NY area
Setting: Autism program; Multiple elementary openings available
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Weekly hours: 35 hours per week
Dates: July 13, 2026 – June 24, 2027

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to elementary students in an autism program
• Write, implement, and monitor IEPs
• Develop measurable IEP goals based on student needs
• Track student progress and maintain required documentation
• Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and families
• Support students’ academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional needs

Requirements:

• Active New York State teaching license with a Students with Disabilities endorsement, or actively working toward obtaining appropriate licensure
• Experience writing IEPs required
• Experience in autism, elementary special education, or self-contained settings preferred
• Recent master’s graduates are encouraged to apply
• Out-of-state licensed candidates needing to transfer licensure are also encouraged to apply
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
