This travel opportunity is designed for passionate Special Education Teachers specializing in grades K-5, focusing on supporting children on the autism spectrum in a self-contained classroom setting. The position is based in Albany, NY, with two openings available and a caseload primarily consisting of children aged 5 to 8 years old.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instructional services tailored to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote student growth and address individual educational needs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student development.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Special Education (Students with Disabilities) teaching license or actively working toward obtaining one.
- Experience in writing and managing IEPs is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Recent graduates holding a Master’s or candidates with out-of-state licenses are encouraged to apply, as licensing transfer support is often available.
- Strong commitment to working with young children on the autism spectrum.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid break; approximately 35 hours per week.
- Contract Duration: Immediate start through June 19th, with potential renewal for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Travel role with assignments located in Albany, NY.
