This onsite position allows you to directly engage with students and colleagues to foster a positive, growth-oriented environment.
Key Requirements & Credentials:
- Active Michigan Special Education License, or eligibility to obtain it prior to start date
- Experience or strong interest in working with high school students in an ASD classroom setting
- Ability to create inclusive, differentiated lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, encouraging atmosphere for students and staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver specialized instruction to support high school students with autism spectrum disorders
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet varying student abilities and IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Monitor and document student progress, contributing to IEP meetings and ongoing communication with families
