Step into an impactful role serving students ages 5–22 as a Special Education Teacher within a welcoming, supportive school environment. This contract position offers the chance to work with children and adolescents across grades K–12, with a daily schedule from 7:30am–3:30pm and a consistent 40-hour workweek.

You’ll support small, self-contained classrooms—each with a maximum of nine students—focused on individuals with severe needs and challenging behaviors. Your adaptability and experience teaching multiple subjects will be key as you partner with a dedicated team working to create a nurturing, inclusive space for learners at various developmental stages.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience teaching students in grades K–5, 6–8, and/or 9–12
  • Background in managing severe and behavior-focused classrooms preferred
  • Comfort operating in self-contained classroom settings
  • Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
  • Ability to tailor instruction across a range of ages and subjects
  • Collaborative mindset and effective communication with colleagues, families, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction across multiple subjects for students with severe behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement IEPs, adjusting instructional methods as needed
  • Foster a positive, structured classroom culture that encourages student growth and independence
  • Work closely with support staff to meet students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals
  • Maintain thorough records of progress and participate in regular team meetings
