Special Education Teacher

Assignment Dates:
• Start Date: 9/8/2026
• End Date: Christmas Break 2026

Schedule:
• Monday – Friday
• Classes run from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• Teachers are expected to report 10 minutes prior to the start of the school day and remain 10 minutes after dismissal
• Half days dismiss at 11:30 AM
• 35+ Hours Per Week

Caseload Details:
• K-2 Cross-Categorical Classroom
• Classroom capped at 15 students
• 3 paraprofessionals assigned to classroom support

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide specialized instruction aligned with student IEP goals
• Manage and support an elementary special education caseload
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and school staff
• Maintain IEP compliance, progress monitoring, and documentation
• Foster a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment
• Utilize AAC supports and communication tools as needed within the classroom setting

Requirements:
• Active Michigan Special Education Certification required
• Elementary SPED experience preferred
• Experience working within cross-categorical settings preferred
• Familiarity with AAC iPad devices preferred
• Experience using TD Snap platform preferred

Additional Details:
• Teacher receives one duty-free uninterrupted 40-minute lunch period daily
• Daily 50-minute prep period included
