Step into an impactful teaching role designed for a dedicated Special Education professional who thrives in early childhood classrooms. This contract opportunity provides the chance to shape young learners' experiences in an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) setting near Allendale, MI.

You'll lead your own classroom, currently welcoming six students, with the potential for enrollment to grow over the school year. With three skilled classroom assistants by your side and the support of a veteran ECSE colleague, you'll have both autonomy and a collaborative environment. The structure begins as a part-time position, with scheduling reaching up to 30 hours per week and the possibility of additional full days as needs evolve. As more students enter the ECSE program, this role may expand to full-time.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certification in Special Education, with a strong understanding of early childhood interventions
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting young children with diverse abilities
  • Excellent skills in individualized instruction, classroom management, and adapting curriculum
  • Collaborative spirit for working with assistants, families, and other teaching professionals

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Designing and guiding developmentally appropriate lessons for young learners with special needs
  • Managing a classroom with individualized attention and a nurturing approach
  • Supervising and coaching three classroom assistants to create a supportive environment
  • Collaborating with families, therapists, and educational staff to develop individualized plans (IEPs)
  • Tracking student progress and adapting instruction based on individual growth
  • Participating in professional development to keep skills fresh and effective
