Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for the state or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Demonstrated expertise supporting students with diverse learning needs, preferably in an elementary resource classroom.
- Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with students, families, and classroom teams.
- Ability to build rapport with children and create an inclusive, positive classroom culture.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
Role Responsibilities:
- Serve a caseload of 7 third through fifth grade students, guiding differentiated instruction based on individual learning plans.
- Develop and implement IEPs, adapting lessons to accommodate various learning styles and needs.
- Employ effective classroom management strategies that foster engagement and growth.
- Track student progress, documenting achievements and challenges, and participate in eligibility and IEP meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure seamless integration and maximum learning opportunities for all students.
- Communicate regularly with families, providing updates and resources to support progress at home.
