Four contract Special Education teaching opportunities are available, covering sites across Carbon and Lehigh counties for the upcoming school year. This role encompasses flexible assignments in a designated region—substituting for absences, providing coverage for long-term leaves, or assisting in an assigned classroom as needed. You'll make a meaningful impact while collaborating closely with school staff to achieve the best outcomes for students.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid and active Pennsylvania teaching license
- Active PA PDE Special Education Certification
- In-person availability; remote or hybrid work is not offered
- Demonstrated experience supporting students in special education classroom settings
- Direct involvement developing and implementing IEPs
- Adaptability and readiness to work at multiple locations as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs on short or long-term assignments as required by the school calendar
- Travel to assigned schools within either Carbon or Lehigh County, collaborating with school teams to ensure continuity of care and instruction
- Step in seamlessly for absent educators or offer classroom coverage, utilizing provided curriculum and behavior support strategies
- Actively contribute to IEP meetings, documentation, and progress monitoring for assigned students
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families to foster student success
