Special Education Teacher – Emotional Support Classrooms

Position Overview
Soliant Education is seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers for onsite roles in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area within the education industry. These positions support Emotional Support Classrooms at the elementary (grades 3–5) and middle school levels. The roles are designed for professionals who are committed to fostering a structured and supportive learning environment for students with behavioral and emotional needs. This is a contract opportunity for the 2026–2027 school year with a strong emphasis on collaboration and student-centered instruction.
Assignment Details
These openings are available from as soon as possible through June 10, 2026, with a schedule of 35 hours per week and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The elementary schedule runs from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, while the middle school hours are 7:15 AM to 2:45 PM. Teachers will be responsible for managing classroom routines, implementing individualized supports, and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere. Both placements offer consistent hours and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across different grade levels.
Responsibilities
The Special Education Teacher will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals and district standards. Daily duties include delivering differentiated instruction, monitoring student progress, and adjusting strategies to meet diverse learning needs. The role also involves collaborating with general education staff, service providers, and families to ensure cohesive support. Maintaining accurate documentation and fostering a safe, respectful classroom environment are essential aspects of the position.
Requirements
Qualified candidates must hold an active Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification or be eligible for licensure in the state. Prior experience working with students in Emotional Support or similar settings is strongly preferred. Applicants should demonstrate strong classroom management skills and the ability to build rapport with students who require behavioral and academic support. Effective communication, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset are key to success in this role.
Compensation and Benefits
This contract position through Soliant Education offers a competitive compensation package along with comprehensive benefits. Eligible employees receive health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as access to a 401(k) plan. Pay range: $37-$53 per hour, depending upon experience level/degree level and other factors. Weekly pay ensures consistent and reliable income throughout the assignment. Support from a dedicated recruiter is provided from onboarding through the duration of the placement.
