This full-time, onsite position spans the academic year starting August 19, 2026, and continuing through June 4, 2027. Two openings are available to provide collaborative instruction with manageable class sizes, fostering meaningful learning experiences.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification applicable to Virginia or eligibility for reciprocity
• Experience or strong interest in co-teaching classroom environments
• Ability to tailor lesson plans to diverse learning needs and IEP requirements
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively with general educators and staff
• Experience supporting elementary (grades 3–4) or middle school (grades 7–8) students preferred
• Commitment to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-teach in small groups (fewer than 10 students per group) at either Blackstone Primary School (grades 3–4) or Nottoway Middle School (grades 7–8)
• Develop, adapt, and implement IEPs ensuring each student’s academic growth
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to foster student achievement
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to support diverse learning styles and behavioral needs
• Maintain accurate records and progress documentation in compliance with district and legal guidelines
