This onsite, contract opportunity focuses on supporting early learners with unique needs in a collaborative school environment near Americus, GA. With a part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week (49% FTE), you’ll provide targeted instruction and play a key role in shaping the foundation of future educational success.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience working with preschool or early childhood adaptive students preferred
- In-depth understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and best practices for early intervention
- Skill in adapting curriculum, teaching strategies, and classroom environments to meet diverse student needs
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, related service providers, and fellow educators
- Compassion and dedication to fostering an inclusive, positive, and nurturing classroom atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized and group instruction for preschool-aged students requiring adaptive special education services
- Create and modify lesson plans tailored to each student’s abilities, goals, and progress
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and regular IEP reporting to ensure compliance and student growth
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including speech, occupational, and behavioral therapists
- Establish strong relationships with families to support student learning in the classroom and beyond
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and communication regarding students’ achievements and needs
