Special Education Teacher - Anderson, Indiana

This contract opportunity is full-time, offering you 35 hours per week for the 2026-2027 academic year. You’ll take the lead in a self-contained classroom for students with mild disabilities, currently serving 12 enrolled learners. Key Requirements:

• Valid and active Indiana teaching license in Special Education (Please provide a recent screenshot as proof)
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students with mild disabilities is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring
• Effective communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and professional staff
• Dedication to creating a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Ability to collaborate with fellow educators for planning and resource sharing

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Adapt lessons and materials to meet the educational needs of each student in the classroom
• Track student progress with data-driven methods and provide regular updates
• Foster a classroom atmosphere respectful of all backgrounds and learning styles
• Maintain accurate documentation according to state and school guidelines
• Collaborate with therapists, administrators, and family members to promote growth and achievement
