This full-time, contract opportunity runs from September through Thanksgiving 2026, providing essential support to students in grades 9–12 within a structured learning setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 16–20 high school students
- Deliver targeted instruction in reading intervention, study strategies, and executive functioning
- Support students with academic organization, planning, and learning techniques
- Collaborate closely with general education staff and student support teams
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain compliance with state and district requirements for special education
- Track and report on student progress to ensure goals are achieved
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required
- Completion of a Minnesota state-approved teacher preparation program in special education
- Valid Minnesota teaching license from the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board in an appropriate special education area (e.g., Learning Disabilities, ABS, EBD)
- Demonstrated competency in Standards of Effective Practice and Special Education core skills
- Successful completion of student teaching/practicum experience
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting high school students, especially in the areas of reading intervention and executive functioning
- Solid background in IEP development and compliance
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
